Salon software in Mumbai that makes every chair-hour count

Space in Mumbai is never cheap, so an empty chair at 4 pm is money you won’t see again. Frizzi is salon booking and billing software that keeps the calendar full and honest: no double bookings, reminders the day before, and deposits or fees for clients who don’t turn up.

  • Never double-booked: the database itself refuses it
  • Reminders with Confirm, Reschedule and Cancel
  • Deposits and no-show fees, each with its own GST invoice (Plus)

The calendar

Salon booking software for Mumbai: a calendar that guards the chair

From Bandra to Andheri, Thane to Navi Mumbai, a chair is the most expensive thing in the salon. Frizzi’s calendar shows a column per stylist on a 15-minute grid, and a booking only goes in if the whole visit fits.

Give a colour its processing time and the stylist shows as free while it develops, so they can take a beard trim in between. Add clean-up time after a service and the next client isn’t booked into a chair that still needs sweeping.

  • Two bookings for the same stylist at the same moment can’t both win
  • Drag and drop to move, with Undo
  • “Missed 2 appointments before” shows on the booking

The cost of an empty slot

What one no-show really costs a Mumbai salon

Say a client books a ₹3,500 global colour for 11 am on a Saturday and doesn’t come. The stylist keeps two hours free that can’t be sold to anyone else that late. You still pay the rent, the salary and the electricity for those two hours. Work out your own number: your average bill, times the no-shows in a month.

Frizzi gives you three ways to get those hours back, all in the Plus plan:

  • Deposits. Ask for one on bookings over an amount you choose (for example 20% on bookings over ₹2,000), from a client who has missed before, or on a service that always needs one. The desk takes it by UPI, cash or card, it goes into the client’s wallet, and “Bill now” uses it on the day.
  • Late-cancel and no-show fees. “Late” is under 4 hours’ notice unless you change it. Charge the fee, waive it, or leave it for a manager. Each fee gets its own numbered invoice with 5% GST if you are registered.
  • A waitlist. When a slot frees up, the first three matching clients are told. One tap books whoever answers.

There is no online payment in Frizzi, so deposits are always taken at the desk. Our guide to reducing no-shows and our cancellation policy guide show how to put rules in place without upsetting regulars.

Before the day

Keep the book full in the days before

Reminders that ask for an answer

A message the day before with Confirm, Reschedule and Cancel, and another a few hours before. A cancellation the night before is a slot you can still fill.

How reminders are sent

Book the next visit at the till

Each service has a “Usually back after”. After the bill, Frizzi suggests the date, so the next visit is booked before the client is out of the door.

Online booking with rules

Clients will book you in the free Frizzi app (coming soon). You decide how soon before and how far ahead they can book, and which services and stylists they can pick.

Paying staff in Maharashtra: Maharashtra levies professional tax on salaries. Frizzi’s payroll (in Pro) works out salary, commission, leave and advances, but not professional tax, PF or ESI. When you review the month, add professional tax as a deduction by hand, and check the current slabs with your CA. More in our salon payroll guide.

How it works

Setting up no-show rules in a few minutes

  1. Set each service’s timing

Processing time, clean-up after, and “Usually back after”. This alone stops most clashes.

  2. Choose when to ask for a deposit

A booking amount, a number of past no-shows, or a deposit on the service itself.

  3. Decide what “late” means

Four hours by default. Set the fee, and who may waive it.

  4. Tell your clients

Put the rule on your booking confirmation and at the desk, so nobody is surprised.

FAQ

Questions from Mumbai salons

Can clients pay a deposit online?

Not in Frizzi. There is no online payment anywhere, so the desk takes the deposit by UPI, cash or card. It sits in the client’s wallet and comes off the bill on the day.

Do the reminders go on WhatsApp?

They go in the free Frizzi client app first (coming soon). To send them on WhatsApp automatically, connect your salon’s own WhatsApp Business number. Without one, reception can send them from a “tap to send” list at the desk.

Is a no-show fee a taxable bill?

In Frizzi each charged fee gets its own numbered fee invoice, with 5% GST if your salon is registered. Waive it in a later month and Frizzi makes a credit note. Check how you treat these fees with your CA.

Does Frizzi have an office in Mumbai?

No. Frizzi is set up online and help is by email at hello@frizzi.app. Your salon’s data is stored in India, on servers in Mumbai, with nightly encrypted backups.

Which plan has deposits and fees?

Plus, at ₹799 a branch a month plus GST. The calendar, reminders and booking rules are in Basic at ₹99. You can try all of it free for 35 days.
