The sum behind the calculator
Pay for the month = fixed salary + service sales × service % + product sales × product % − advance recovered.
Use sales before GST and after discounts. If a ₹1,000 service was billed at ₹900 after a member discount, commission is on ₹900, and the 5% GST on top is never part of it.

FAQ
Commission questions
Should commission be on the price with or without GST?
Without. GST is the government’s money, not the salon’s sales, so commission is normally worked out on the amount before GST and after any discount. Frizzi does it that way.
What is a fair commission percentage for stylists?
It depends on the fixed salary, your prices and your margins, so there is no single right number. Work out what a service really costs you first (products, rent per chair-hour, salary), then set commission so the salon still makes money on a discounted bill.
How do slabs work?
With slabs, the rate goes up as sales go up. Either the whole month’s sales get the rate of the slab reached, or each part of the sales gets its own rate. The guide on stylist commission shows both with numbers.
